Bret Underwood is a Vice President and Principal of Britt, Peters and Associates. With 19 years at BPA, his experience includes higher education, hospitality, K-12, mid-rise, industrial and mixed-use construction projects of various construction materials including wood, structural steel, reinforced masonry, and mild reinforced and post tensioned concrete.
A Registered Professional Engineer in fifteen states and the District of Columbia, Bret has design experience across the country for a variety of conditions including hurricane wind loads, high seismic loads, flood loads, and poor soils requiring deep foundations and mat foundations.
A graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Bret is an active member of the Hampton Roads Association of Commercial Real Estate, Virginia Structural Engineers Council, American Wood Council and American Consulting Engineers Council.
