Porter Gaud Upper School Building

Britt, Peters & Associates, Inc provided the structural design services for the Upper School building for Porter Gaud in Charleston, SC. The new building is a 3 story 60,000 square foot brick clad building is framed with concrete slab on metal deck supported by composite steel beams and steel columns. The lateral system is comprised of reinforced concrete masonry walls. The design of the roof incorporates a mechanical well to conceal the roof mounted mechanical equipment. The Upper School building includes classrooms, office space, and an 8,600 square foot lecture hall and a library.
